Home Visit

A Home Visit is when one of our Move Managers visits your home in order to discover what items you require to be moved. They will survey all of the rooms, cupboards, attics, cellars and garages in order to calculate the overall volume and weight of possessions you have to move. You will be able to identify the items to be moved as well as items that are not to be moved. The Move Manager will also look at access and parking for the moving vehicles and how your home may need to be protected during the moving process. All of this information will then be used to produce a quote for your move.

A Move Manager is a member of our staff who will guide you through your entire move. They will help you to consider all aspects of your move, including packing options, to ensure that you receive an accurate quote for your move. You will be able to contact your Move Manager if you have any questions about your move.

When we send you a quote it will include the cost to move your possessions from the addresses you have provided. If you have additional items to move, for example to collect items that are in storage, then this will also be included. If you have requested a quote for packing then this will be included as a separate line item. Depending on the type of move you require then insurance cover may be included. VAT will also be listed on our quote.

In order to receive a quote please complete one of the forms. For removals and packing please use the Removal Quote form, or request a Home Visit Consultation. For a storage quote, please use the Storage Quote form. If you are not sure what to do, then pleas call us on 0141 639 3931.

If your removal quote is for our full 5 Star moving service then your quote will include insurance. However if using our man-and-van service then insurance is not included.

Local and UK Moves

One of the secrets of a good move is good planning, so as soon as you know you are going to be relocating, start contacting reputable removal companies. Don’t leave this to the last minute. Even if you don’t have a completion date on your house then you should still contact removal companies in good time.

Ask your removal company as many questions as you can – after all you are entrusting these people with your prize possessions. Here’s a list of questions we recommend that you consider…MORE

Both your solicitor and your seller’s solicitors will have agreed a time for key exchange. Ask your move manager how long loading your home contents may take – so if you anticipate receiving your keys at 13:00hrs for example and loading the vehicle and travelling to your new home is approximately 4 hours, then you should book for 09:00hrs.

When moving home you have several packing options:

We offer a professional full packing service which will take care of all the packing needs. This covers fragile and non-fragile items and will ensure that your possessions are well protected while being moved.

You may also choose to use our Fragiles Only packing service, which will only select fragile items to pack and protect. Leaving you to pack all of the non-fragile items.

If you choose to pack everything yourself then we provide you with some free packing materials. If you end up needing more then additional boxes, bubble wrap and other packing materials are available to purchase.

International Moves

It is never too early to contact a removal company when you are planning an overseas move. Moving Home Made Easy recommend you begin your search at least 10-12 weeks prior to your move abroad; however, some people start their search as soon as 12 months before. It is important not to leave it until the last minute, which could result in hasty decisions. Ask for a brochure or specific customs information for the country you are moving to. Alternatively, you can obtain an online quote of this website or ask for one of our self-survey forms to be sent.

Please call our free phone national number 0800 055 6669 or email us at enquiries@movinghomemadeeasy.com

The cost of your international removal is based on the volume of goods you would like to ship, the freight rate for your particular destination and what packing requirements are needed (ease of access etc.). To accurately assess the volume a full survey of your property is carried out by one of our International Moving Consultants. This is also an opportunity to discuss your individual requirements and ask any questions you may have about your international move. If you know your volume or have already had a quote from another moving company, why not compare on our online quote calculator. If the destination is not there just email us with the details of your quote and we will see if we can match or better that quotation.

The transit time of an ocean shipment depends on the port of departure and port of arrival for full container loads. Vessel sailings are regularly scheduled and Moving Home Made Easy can provide estimated sailing departure dates. Please understand that the departure dates are estimated; the actual departure can occur a few days earlier or later than scheduled. For shipments being sent on a shared load basis Moving Home Made Easy will include with your international removal quote an estimated transit time for your particular destination. Please ask our surveyor at the time of survey for details on type of shipments available and transit times.

Moving Home Made Easy endeavour to supply all the relevant forms required. However, it is the individual’s responsibility to ensure sure that they have the correct documentation for their personal situation.
