How much does a house removal cost?
The cost of your house removal depends on a number of different factors. These include:
- The total volume of goods you intend to move.
- The overall distance of travel.
- The complexity of your move and whether there are any access difficulties at either property.
- The day you move.
- The time of year you move.

What's the best way to keep the move cost down?
There are a few things that you can do to help keep the overall cost of your house move down. They include:
- If you can, pick a quite time of the month to move home. There are times during the month and even days during the week which will prove more expensive to move, so avoid weekends and check our Low Rate Days calendar.
- Avoid moving during the summer holidays. So many people want to move at that time of year that it makes competition for moving slots very high and as a result, more expensive.
- Have a clear-out before you move. There is no point in paying a moving company to move things that you no longer use or need. Sell unwanted items or give things to charity. Make use of our partnership with Shelter Scotland - you fill boxes with unwanted, but still useful items and we'll deliver them to Shelter Scotland.
- Everyone wants to be "in for Christmas". As a result removal companies get very busy in the weeks leading up to Christmas, so to keep costs down, don't move in the run up to Christmas.
What happens at a Home Visit?
If you request a Home Visit then one of our Move Managers will visit your home to discuss your move in detail.
You will be able to show them all of the items that you require to be moved, along with anything that does not need moved.
Having a Home Visit is the best way to receive an accurate quote for your home move.
