More often than not the biggest concern for home movers is:
What time to book their removal van on move day and whether or not they leave their home in time for a smooth on-time key exchange.
Here are our 4 tips for ensuring a smooth key handover on move day:
- Confirm with your mover how long they expect loading to take and what time loading will be completed. Also ask if they can arrive early enough to complete loading by midday at the latest.
- Let your buyer’s agent know you will hand over the keys an hour or so after loading and give them the estimated load completion time. This allows you the freedom of knowing the new owners will not arrive before load completion.
- Ask your mover about pre-loading some of your contents the day before. This will make the actual move day itself much more straightforward.
- Always ensure all packing of boxes (etc.) is completed prior to the actual moving day whether you are doing it yourself or the mover is packing for you. Otherwise you could risk delaying your move day vacating time.
When you’re moving house, having good communication with all parties involved in the move is essential to making the move as seamless and stress-free as possible.
